TATIANA 2

For those that enjoyed the post about odd Soviet architecture, why not come with me on this colourful odyssey of their outlandish bus stops?

You can't help but get the feeling that they're all on the same route - maybe about 10 feet from each other along the same bleak highway.

Yes, either 10 feet or 3 time zones from each other along an endlessly bleak highway going from Nowhere to Nowhere...

some of them looked like they were in idaho , usa :)- they look like they could be/should be figments of the imagination-temporary alien pods to ensnare a hapless human or occassional dog -- step onto any concrete surface contained therein and bang ~supernova blast back to the mothership for some probing -- i could look at sh*t like this all day- what the internet was made for - hahah

It puts the lie to the notion fed in the west that the soviet system suppressed all free expression.

I'm curious, William, are you familiar with the film, Come and See?

-this was a glasnost era WWII film which puts to shame any western work on the subject of war (Apocalypse Now and a few others might come close, but not quite)

There is one scene in particular whose soundtrack sounds like something that could've come off of Buchenwald or New Britain, or other of the purely high-end Whitehouse pieces of around that time.

Idi I Smotri is indeed fantastic - Sotos recommended this film to me some time ago by email. Certainly beats Western war films by miles.

One lonely looking donkey, but not a spot of grafitti. These are wonderful images. Nice link.
