SHOWINGS

This last week's films I've enjoyed (for the sake of sparing embarrassment, the turkeys don't get a mention):

Zodiac (David Fincher, 2007)
Hustle & Flow (Craig Brewer, 2005)
Inland Empire (David Lynch, 2006)

Oh, that's right, isn't "Inland Empire" on DVD right now? I'll have to look into that, it didn't even come to the theaters where I live sadly.

'Inland empire' was like in the theatres here for maybe a week. I'll have to get that DVD.

Inland Empire played out here (San Francisco) for a long while.

people even dressed up at the showings.

this is why I moved here, Crap like that never happens in New Hampshire.

haven't seen the other two, I've become rather lazy with it comes to film watching.

there was a time when i could knock out 3 or 4 a day, but it was practically part of my job, and I didn't sleep much.

I´ve found Zodiac very interesting. It spares us from that tired "serial killer" cliché, focusing instead on the obsession that originates it in the first place. Also, the masterful yet sober handling of camera and acting is very much apart from other approaches to the subject (including Fincher´s early attempts).

I look forward to seeing Inland Empire. It hasn´t managed to get to Brazil, yet.
